Henry's eternal love for Beautiful FC

Barcelona's Thierry Henry speaks affectionately about his eternal love for Beautiful FC:

"I'm happy - I don't regret leaving Arsenal...But there's only one team in England for me. Everybody knows the love and affection I have for Arsenal. I was so into it, I became a fan...There has been since I arrived here a lot of speculation from day one but, hey, go back where? There's only one team for me in my heart. It took me a while to understand what that club, Arsenal, meant."

Bentley Calls Arsenal Boring

Question of the day: is Arsenal's football truly beautiful or is it simply a very technical, precise, skillful type of game?

The question is prompted by today's discussion about ex-Arsenal trainee and current Blackburn star, David Bentley. Arsenal face Blackburn at home and people are asking manager Arsene Wenger if he regrets losing Bentley after developing the player.

Wenger says that Benley had too many good players in front of him and was transferred as a courtesy. He also says that Bentley could play for his current squad though he's not sure how much.

As for Bentley, while others are claiming he was "developed" by Arsenal, he himself does not have fond memories of that developmental period:"When I was at Arsenal, it was all about statistics and perfect football...Everything I thought football should be wasn't happening at Arsenal...it was boring."

Hmm. We are left scratching our heads. If Arsene Wenger is truly such a steely technocrat, can his football be truly "beautiful" if it is devoid of human emotion and nature?

And if Arsenal's players are mere technical robots, can they really be Beautifulgamers?

A chink in the armour for Beautiful FC then?

Shearer says Arsenal cannot win whilst playing beautiful football

Arsene Wenger has called Alan Shearer ’stupid’ for saying that Beautiful FC cannot win the Premier League playing ‘beautiful football’. Shearer made his comments after Arsenal’s Boxing Day draw at Portsmouth. But Wenger delivered his angry response with nice timing yesterday, after Arsenal beat Everton 4-1, to stay atop the Premiership:

“The problem is that one guy can come out with a stupid idea and it becomes a common belief even though it is not confirmed by the facts.’’

Touche Wenger. But...

The irony here though is that while Arsenal responded with a win, many are claiming it came in uncharacteristic style: three of the four goals came from long balls.

The Most Beautiful FC In The World

The purpose of this blog and the concept of "Beautiful FC" is to celebrate Arsene Wenger's beautiful football project at Arsenal.

Based on search results produced by The Beautiful Game Search Engine it is clear that Arsenal FC are currently the most beautiful team in the world today.

On the eve of their much anticipated clash with Manchester United, the wise and brilliant Wenger had this to say:

"I feel it's two teams who play flowing football at a high pace and that's always worth watching...The game can become an art when that happens and you should never miss that."
